The first two devices in Vishay Intertechnology, Inc.’s new Gen 7 platform of 1200V FRED Pt Hyperfast rectifiers have been made available. The 1A rectifiers have the best reverse recovery charge (Qrr) and forward voltage drop trade-off for devices in their class, and are offered in the SMA (DO-214AC) package. The Vishay Semiconductors VS-E7MH0112-M3 and AEC-Q101 certified VS-E7MH0112HM3 are intended to increase the efficiency of auxiliary functions and low power stages for AC/DC and DC-DC converters. They are optimized for industrial and automotive applications. The rectifiers combine a quick 75ns recovery time with a typical Qrr of 150nC. Their usual forward voltage drop of 1.1V is 10% less than the closest competitor device on the market, and they produce 50% less parasitic capacitance without sacrificing device dependability. Additionally, compared to previous generations of solutions, the rectifiers offer a 10% increase in reverse recovery energy (Erec) and a smoother recovery tail for better EMI mitigation.

The components will provide desaturation protection for the most recent fast-switching IGBTs and Si/SiC MOSFETs while acting as clamp, snubber, and freewheeling diodes in flyback auxiliary power supplies and high-frequency rectifiers for bootstrap driver functionality. The VS-E7MH0112-M3 and Automotive Grade VS-E7MH0112HM3 are often used in industrial, telecom, and EV onboard motors and chargers, uk converters, and industrial LED PFC CrM SEPIC circuits. The devices’ planar construction and lifetime control with platinum doping provide system dependability and robustness without sacrificing performance. They have optimized stored charge, which reduces switching losses and lowers power dissipation, as well as low recovery current. The devices have a Moisture Sensitivity Level of 1 in line with J-STD-020, are RoHS-compliant, are halogen-free, and operate at high temperatures up to +175C.
