The newest LED RGB chip for automobile interiors significantly reduces color-related chromatic variations. The SMLVN6RGBFU LED RGB chip, developed by ROHM, is perfect for interior auto parts like function and status indicators in instrument clusters, CIDs (Center Information Displays), and accent lighting for door handles and floor mats. In recent years, more and more assistance-to-driving features have been introduced (for example, automatic speed control and distance measurement from the vehicle/white line). This is because vehicles are becoming more and more electronic and sophisticated. As a result, there is a growing demand for LED RGB chips that can display a spectrum of colors to indicate the state of the functioning of instrumentation and controllers. The need to design a cozy, plush space in the home with decorative lighting that makes use of LED RGB chips is also growing. In response, ROHM has created an LED RGB chip that further reduces color variation by precisely regulating the luminosity characteristics of RGB elements and improving color mingling thanks to internal device technology.

Generally speaking, the development of LED RGB chips that emit light of the desired color requires precise control over the wavelength and luminosity of the red, green, and blue (RGB) elements when mounted singly as well as methods to enhance the color mixing capability. One of ROHM’s strengths is that, in comparison to generic products, it has minimized color variation in its elements by using a vertically integrated production system up until the stage of element fabrication. At the same time, the initial technology for controlling element color blending was developed. reduces the chromatic variations brought on by the color mixture that tends to show up in LEDs with an RGB chip, ensuring the accurate expression of the colors requested inside automobiles. Additionally, ROHM supports the detagging of colors according to user preferences using a cromaticity simulation system. ROHM will continue to work to improve the level of comfort and security on board of ships by developing market-leading products designed specifically for automotive lighting with a quality-driven mindset. SMLVN6RGBFU applies the regulation coefficients for each degree of chromaticity and provides a calibration help to bring the desired color as close as possible to reality. This brand-new LED RGB chip and the high-precision simulation of chromaticity enable accurate color correspondence. Examples of applications: Indicators for visualizing functions and states include instrument panel indicators, CIDs, audio and navigation controls, and so on. Environment-friendly lighting for the automotive industry, including porta-potties, maniglias, and vani-pedi.
