The Artesyn CSU2400AT 2400W series has been added to the family of ultra-high-density front-end power supplies by Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. The new series combines an 80PLUS Titanium efficiency certification with the CPRS form factor. The new power supplies reduce energy consumption and improve space utilisation in distributed power conversion systems for computing, storage, and networking devices while operating at up to 96% efficiency. The standard CPRS 1U x 73.5mm form factor makes it possible for these power supply to be quickly and easily incorporated into current deployments in addition to satisfying the demanding requirements of new installations.

According to Richard Caubang, senior technical director for enterprise and network products at Advanced Energy, 80PLUS Titanium accreditation is becoming an increasingly prevalent need for energy-related goods and will shortly become essential in conformity with European Lot 9 law. The CRPS form factor offers a streamlined upgrade path to greater efficiency, more space-efficient solutions in current installations, and the CSU2400AT series satisfies these needs. The hot-pluggable supplies accept input voltages ranging from 180 VAC to 264 VAC and 180 VDC to 336 VDC. They include active PFC, extremely low total harmonic current distortion to meet EN 61000-3-2 standards even at light loads, and PMBus compliance. While active current sharing makes it possible to connect numerous power supplies in parallel for applications requiring larger load current or redundancy, each power supply has a nominal output voltage of 12.2V. In circumstances where system loads do not require the entire capacity of linked power supply, a “cold redundancy” feature maximises efficiency. The series conforms with all applicable safety requirements, including EMI Class A, IEC 60950, and IEC/EN/UL 62368.
