Six new waveguide packed, voltage variable attenuator models from Pasternack have been introduced, spanning popular mm-wave frequency ranges from 26.5GHz to 110GHz.

Its innovative waveguide packed voltage variable attenuators offer 0dB to 30dB attenuation tuning adjustment with a voltage range of 0VDC to 5VDC and are based on GaAs MMIC semiconductor technology. These broadband, voltage-variable attenuators will be helpful to designers in receive chains to adjust mm-wave signal levels to optimise system performance. The attenuators are available in robust, small, gold-plated, aluminium package designs that are suitable for use in temperatures ranging from 10C to +60C. They can resist exposure to up to 95% relative humidity and altitudes of up to 10,000 feet, and they accept different waveguide diameters.

This line of broadband, waveguide, and voltage variable attenuators has insertion loss ranges of 4dB to 6dB, a quick switching speed of typically 25nsec, and a high input power handling capacity of +23dBm. “Our new range of voltage variable attenuators with waveguide packaging and outstanding reliability are perfect for downlink or receive channels where signal levels need to be adjusted or tuned to improve system performance. These continuously waveguide attenuators are available for same-day shipping and are in stock “said product manager Tim Galla.
