High-power switches from Pasternack have been added to their lineup; they were designed for test and measurement applications as well as for high reliability in transmit and receive. Its high-power switch extension includes a number of types with hot switching for switching back and forth between components without affecting the functionality of the device.

These RF switches have a 200W power handling capacity and a 40ms switching speed. They provide broad frequency coverage between 30MHz and 6GHz with N-Type female and SMA connector options. Additionally, they are designed with a -40°F to +185°F working temperature range and small, durable, defense-grade coaxial packaging. This extensive series of switches reduces the possibility of expensive downtime and maintenance. According to senior product manager Tim Galla, designers will find it very helpful in transmit and receive chains as well as for test and measurement applications.

An example of product is N Type PE71S8004 PIN diode switch from Pasternack is an Absorptive design and SPDT High Power PIN Diode Swtich Operating from 100 MHz to 500 MHz up to 100 Watts Average Power (+47 dBm). Our RF Absorptive PIN diode switch operates at 50 Ohm with N connections. The minimum frequency and maximum frequency of this N PIN diode Absorptive switch are 100 MHz and 500 MHz, respectively. A maximum input power of 100 Watts (+50 dBm) and a switching speed of 40,000 ns are the specifications for the Pasternack PIN diode Absorptive RF switch, respectively. This N Absorptive switch has a maximum insertion loss of 0.5 dB and a minimum isolation of 55 dB. The PE71S8004 absorbtive PIN diode radio frequency switch is one of more than 40,000 RF, microwave, and millimetre wave parts offered by Pasternack. Similar to our other RF parts, we can transport this Absorptive N coaxial PIN diode switch anywhere in the world the same day that it is purchased.
